چکیده
Abstract. Aircraft wing manufacture is becoming increasingly digitalised. For example, it possible to produce on-line digital representations of individual structural elements, components and tools as they are deployed during assembly processes. When comes monitoring a manufacturing environment, imaging systems can be used track objects move about the workspace, comparing actual positions, alignments, spatial relationships with representation process. Active such laser scanners trackers capture measurements within which deduce information both overall stage progress tasks. This paper concerned in-line extraction location orientation drilling templates hand ensure drilled holes accurately located. In this work, construction grade terrestrial scanner, Leica RTC360, an example aircraft section in mid-assembly from several scan locations. Point cloud registration uses 1.5” white matte spherical targets that interchangeable SMR by AT960 MR tracker, ensuring scans connected established metrology control network define coordinate space. was achieved sub-millimetre accuracy when compared tracker network. The on surface skin automatically extracted captured registered point clouds. referenced hole centres, scanner template agree 0.2mm.

Automated Registration of Unorganised Point Clouds from Terrestrial Laser Scanners
Terrestrial laser scanners provide a three-dimensional sampled representation of the surfaces of objects resulting in a very large number of points. The spatial resolution of the data is much higher than that of conventional surveying methods. Since laser scanners have a limited field of view, in order to obtain a complete representation of an object it is necessary to collect data from several...
متن کاملMethods for the Automatic Geometric Registration of Terrestrial Laser Scanner Point Clouds in Forest Stands
A combined analysis of multiple terrestrial laser scanner point clouds recorded from different positions requires a geometric registration of these scans. In most applications of terrestrial laser scanning, artificial tie points, which can be recognized automatically by proprietary scanner software, are placed in the scanning area. In this case, the scan positions have to be chosen in a way tha...
متن کاملAutomatic Registration of Terrestrial Laser Scanner Point Clouds Using Natural Planar Surfaces
Terrestrial laser scanners have become a standard piece of surveying equipment, used in diverse fields like geomatics, manufacturing and medicine. However, the processing of today’s large point clouds is time-consuming, cumbersome and not automated enough. A basic step of post-processing is the registration of scans from different viewpoints. At present this is still done using artificial targe...
متن کاملFull Automatic Registration of Laser Scanner Point Clouds
The registration of point clouds that are acquired from different laser scanner standpoints is an essential task in the environment modelling works. In this paper, a full automatic point cloud registration scheme is presented. Special targets attached onto the object(s) are used as landmarks and their 3-D coordinates are measured with a theodolite in a ground coordinate system before the scanni...
